Diorama Workshop

A teaching workshop under development which evokes architectural design and thinking using the idea of dioramas as a direct investigative tool. The workshop will theme itself around the term, simulacrum, and the differences in our perception of spatial connection + recognition and the physical world. A gap, which can be explored and used to discover new design possibilities in the built environment.

The workshop is developed in collaboration with architect, Tenna Beck, and is due to run at some point in the future with Johan Hybschmann and Tenna Beck as workshop leaders.

‘It is no longer a question of imitation, nor duplication, nor even parody. It is a question of substituting the sign of the real for the real’

Jean Baudrillard on ‘simulacrum’
